Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Homebody by Sophie
Welcome to Homebody by Sophie (“Homebody”, “we”, “our” or “us”). These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, purchases and participation in classes, workshops, events and services offered by Homebody by Sophie. By attending our studio, booking a class or purchasing a membership or class pack, you agree to the following terms.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for every client. These terms are designed to ensure the smooth operation of the studio and an enjoyable experience for our community.
Bookings & Payments
All classes must be booked in advance through our booking platform, MINDBODY, or via website. Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise specified. Clients are responsible for ensuring they hold a valid membership, class pack or pass before attending class.
All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and may be updated from time to time at the discretion of Homebody by Sophie. Any promotional offers, including introductory offers, are available to new clients only unless otherwise stated. Introductory offers cannot be shared, transferred or redeemed multiple times by the same person.
Memberships & Class Packs
Memberships operate on an automatic weekly recurring payment basis and will continue until cancelled in accordance with these Terms & Conditions. All memberships have an 8-week lock in period. Class packs, intro offers and casual passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and subject to the expiry periods outlined at the time of purchase.
Memberships may be placed on hold for a minimum of seven days and a maximum of six weeks per calendar year. Requests to pause a membership must be submitted in writing with reasonable notice before the requested pause period begins.
Clients wishing to cancel a membership must provide at least seven business days written notice before their next billing date. If sufficient notice is not provided, the following scheduled payment may still be processed.
Homebody by Sophie reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships where these Terms & Conditions are breached or where behaviour is considered inappropriate, unsafe or disruptive to staff or other clients.
Cancellation & No Show Policy
As class sizes are intentionally limited, we ask clients to cancel their booking as early as possible if they are unable to attend. This allows waitlisted clients the opportunity to join the class.
Classes cancelled more than six hours before the scheduled start time will be returned to the client’s account for future use. Cancellations made within six hours of the class start time will be treated as a late cancellation and incure a $20 late cancellation fee for memberships and a loss of class credit for packs/casual classes.
Clients who fail to attend a booked class without cancelling will be considered a no show and will be charged a $20 no-show fee. Unlimited membership holders may incur an additional fee for repeated no shows or late cancellations.
For safety and minimal disruption to the class experience, clients arriving more than five minutes after the scheduled start time may not be permitted entry.
We understand that unexpected situations arise and reserve the right to waive cancellation fees in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
Waitlists
If a class is fully booked, clients may choose to join the waitlist. If a place becomes available, clients may be automatically added into the class and notified via email or SMS.
Once added from the waitlist, the standard cancellation policy applies. Clients are responsible for monitoring their waitlist status and ensuring they can attend if a position becomes available.
Health & Safety
By participating in classes at Homebody by Sophie, clients acknowledge that Pilates and fitness activities involve physical exertion and carry an inherent risk of injury. Clients participate voluntarily and at their own risk.
Clients are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate in classes and should consult a healthcare professional where appropriate. Any injuries, medical conditions, pregnancies or physical limitations must be disclosed to the instructor prior to class commencement.
While our instructors aim to provide a safe and supportive environment, Homebody by Sophie accepts no liability for injuries, illnesses, loss or damage sustained during participation, except where liability cannot legally be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Pregnancy & Postpartum Participation
Clients who are pregnant or recently postpartum are encouraged to seek medical clearance before attending classes. It is the client’s responsibility to inform the instructor of their pregnancy or postpartum status before participating.
Our instructors may offer modifications where possible, however all participation remains at the client’s own discretion and responsibility.
Studio Etiquette
To maintain a calm and respectful studio environment, we ask all clients to arrive a few minutes before class begins. Phones should be placed on silent and stored away during class unless required for emergencies.
Grip socks are strongly encouraged for hygiene and safety purposes. Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward instructors, staff and fellow members at all times.
Homebody by Sophie reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive, aggressive or inappropriate.
Personal Belongings
Clients are responsible for their personal belongings while attending the studio. Homebody by Sophie accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items brought onto the premises.
Timetable & Instructor Changes
Homebody by Sophie reserves the right to amend class schedules, instructors, pricing, operating hours and studio services at any time without notice.
Occasionally, classes may need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, affected clients will be notified in advance and any applicable class credits will be returned to the client’s account.
Photography & Social Media
From time to time, Homebody by Sophie may capture photography or video content within the studio for promotional, marketing or social media purposes.
We respect the privacy of our clients and ask that anyone who does not wish to appear in studio content notify our team before class begins.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights available under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or Australian Consumer Law.
