The Studio

Located on iconic Norton Street in Leichhardt, Homebody by Sophie sits opposite the quiet calm of Pioneers Memorial Park, a small pocket of stillness in the middle of it all.

The studio is intimate and light-filled, designed to feel more like a home than a traditional fitness space. A place to arrive, settle, and move with ease.

Thoughtfully equipped with small apparatus and functional movement tools, the space supports a practice that is both intentional and accessible. Everything has its place, allowing you to move freely, build strength, and find your rhythm without distraction.

The Founder

Meet Sophie

Sophie Hay (née Raper)’s journey with movement began at the age of three with ballet, before discovering Pilates at seven. She went on to have a professional ballet career and now works as a Brand Manager for a leading Australian dance company. Her connection to movement has remained constant, evolving alongside her through different seasons of life.

After becoming a mother, Sophie’s relationship to movement shifted. Pilates became a way to reconnect - to rebuild strength, find stability, and carve out space for herself in the midst of it all. What began as a personal practice quickly grew into something more, and from that place, Homebody by Sophie was born.

Sophie’s approach is grounded in the belief that movement should feel supportive, accessible, and sustainable. Drawing on her background in dance and lifelong experience with Pilates, she creates classes that focus on connection over intensity - encouraging clients to tune into their bodies, move with intention, and build strength in a way that feels good.

Homebody by Sophie is a reflection of Sophie’s own journey - a space that values softness and strength equally, and one that welcomes every body, exactly as it is.
